Just posting an updated Bread making session with my friend from facebook from a long time ago. She is a friend whom i met through facebook and we don't get to meet here in Manila until i decide not to leave last May. If i left as scheduled, we both would miss each other again as it happens every year for like what,,, 4 years or so???
Anyways, here are the photos. She brought with her Surfina, a bread flour from Belgium and it is what she said it is, it does not work well for French Breads, maybe Pandesal and flatbreads but the water is way too low although i kinda like the yellowish cornmeal like color. It makes you think it's rich in something :)
To my July batch, i thank you. For the laughs and well, i apologize if i was only able to serve you pancit on the last day because my helper/cook/is incognito...
Baking classes, both one on one and the group (very small group) is ongoing, so text me at 09495705091 if you are dying to eat homemade breads. I will once again explain why i do not want to take in 2 days or 1 day bread lessons. My goal is for you to be self confident in yeast dough baking, and not, definitely not half baked. Pun intended. Yes. That will happen to you if you take only 1 day or 2 days. 3 days will make you go cross the borderline between a newbie and someone who can bake bread. Bake bread successfully will be guaranteed if you take the last 4th day, where you get to see more baking...
If you ask me, i suggest you take more time. Time is important. There are no shortcuts to baking breads. You can perfect a muffin even if you don't know how to bake. Just read the recipe and follow it. Not with breads. I see a lot of videos and books out there, but the question is this. How good is that bread?
Is that bread you are seeing in front of you the bread you really want to eat??? Probably not. The only way for you to have that bread you so lovingly want is to make it yourself. No other way.
I hope that more and more Pinoys will be like Americans or Europeans who take time to make their own breads even if it takes time to do them. It's the pleasure and the whole experience with a rewarding piece of loaf in the end that matters. Not the cost. Please. Make your own bread. Nothing beats it.
